Kane Hodder, Who Gave us all Chills as Jason Voorhees in Friday the 13th, Now Portrays Another Classic Horror Villain, the Twisted Ike in Exit 33
Kane Hodder again stuns audiences everywhere with his ability to portray the psycho, twisted killer in Exit 33. Kane Hodder has a natural ability to convey menace, a talent that gained him fame and acclaim from fans of the Friday the 13th series. As Jason Voorhees in Friday the 13th, Kane Hodder was hidden behind the famous Jason hockey mask, but he was still chillingly evil. In Exit 33, we get to see Kane Hodder work his scary magic without the mask as Ike, a severely twisted gas station owner who preys on innocent, lovely women who are unfortunate enough to stop at Ike's Last Chance Gas off of exit 33.
Like Michael Myers, the evil, twisted serial killer from the Halloween movies, (originally played by Donald Pleasance), Ike has a past that drives him to murderous results. In Rob Zombie's remake of the original Halloween movie, Michael Myers is given a history, a past that helps to explain his murderous drive. Although the Halloween movie written and directed by Rob Zombie took some criticism for humanizing the "boogeyman" character that existed in the original movie, many fans appreciated getting a glimpse at the motives of the man behind the mask. There is no doubt that the Michael Myers in Rob Zombie's version of Halloween is a scary, evil guy. Kane Hodder adds another iconic villainous character to the list of horror greats with Ike, who also has a past that contributes to his evil abduction, torture, and murder of his victims in Exit 33.
The victims in Exit 33 might remind you a bit of Heather Donahue, one of the unfortunate college students who are the victims in The Blair Witch Project. The three film majors go on a camping trip in hopes of documenting the Blair Witch Ghost as a film project. The Blair Witch Project is shot as a compilation of the footage recovered from their cameras after they disappear. The victims in Exit 33 are five students on their way to a reunion, and they meet with equally unfortunate ends as the students in The Blair Witch Project.
